The Local Government Act 2000 introduced a programme of reform to strengthen
the links between councils and local people. One of the requirements of
this is that each local authority area should be covered by a Local Strategic
Partnership (LSP) that brings together the public, private, business, voluntary
and community sectors to identify the top priorities of the community and to
work with local people to address them.
In Kensington and Chelsea a rich mix of large and small organisations and
partnerships are hard at work in the local community and seeking to plan future
developments in the borough. These include the Council,
the Police, the Social Council,
the Health
Authority, the Business Community, over 350 tenants and residents
associations, a wide range of voluntary organisations and a large number of
informal working partnerships.
The Kensington and Chelsea Partnership
brings together all those who have an interest in the future of the borough,
from individuals who live or work in the borough, through to voluntary groups
and the large statutory organisations.
You can join our email alert list and we will keep you informed of local initiatives and plans to improve life in the borough.
The Kensington and Chelsea Partnership Steering Group was launched on the 20
March 2002. The Steering Group's core purpose is to seek to improve the
quality of life for all residents of Kensington and Chelsea and to try to ensure
that the area can make a positive contribution to the success of London.
The current membership of the Kensington and Chelsea Partnership Steering
Group is shown below. To find out more information about each of the
