The following pages explain the procedure for registering a marriage and should answer most, if not all, of your questions. Naturally, we can’t include everything about marriages on this website so if there is anything that you’re not sure about please feel free to call the Register Office.
Whether you live in Kensington and Chelsea or not, getting married is a special occasion and choosing the right place for your ceremony is just as important. One of the first things to remember is that you are free to get married anywhere in England or Wales which is licensed for Civil Marriage Ceremonies. This means that if you wish to get married here in the Royal Borough then you are free to do so, no matter where you live.
