Supplier data and the Data Protection Act
The Council recognises that personal data regarding sole traders
who are not operating as a limited company will
be subject to the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA). The DPA
places a statutory duty on the Council to handle personal
information in accordance with the data protection
principles.
The information we collect and
handle concerning transactions between the Council
and its suppliers and the terms thereof, may
be used by the Council as part of the
Capital Ambition Online Expenditure Analysis Project,
which involves the sharing of information collected from
sole traders and limited companies (including names and addresses)
with other participating London Councils, the purpose of which
is to identify opportunities to collaborate in the purchase of
common goods and services and other areas of expenditure
across London.
If you have any questions about the use of
personal data and data protection issues generally, you can contact
