Jane Box-Grainger
Exhibition of Watercolours and Charity Christmas Sale
8 to 10 November 2011
'La Baie Marigot', St Martin, Caribbean. 2006. This
watercolour painting desribes the bay at night, with the glorious
mix of reds, blues, browns at sunset.
I was not allowed to attend Art School by my parents after I had
matriculated in 1943 but however I have been lucky to have a chance
to paint at this late stage of my life from the age of 74 years!!
12 years ago! I have found it a very rewarding and fulfilling
occupation and have been both amazed and delighted that people have
purchased my work and have even complimented me on it!
'The Isle of Harris', 2010. I love Scotland and the
Scottish isles and it gave me great pleasure to make a painting of
this attractive island. The island of Harris is in the foreground
and you can see the mountains in the background and the calm sea in
the foreground.
I’m going to have a Solo Exhibition from 8 to 10 November 2011
at the Chelsea Gallery, Chelsea and Kensington Library, The Old
Town Hall, Kings Road, SW3. Original work will be on show from
Croatia, Elba, France, Greece, Ireland, Isles of Scilly, Italy, New
Zealand, Sicily and The British Isles as well as new work never
exhibited before. As usual, there will be calendars, mats, and
cards with envelopes for sale and some proceeds will be donated to
my charities as before.
I do hope you will find time to join me on one of those
days:
- Tuesday 8 November 2011, 10am to 8pm
- Wednesday 9 November, 10am to 4pm
- Private View 9 November, 4pm to 8pm
- Thursday 10 November, 10am to 8pm
