Same day certificate service
The Kensington and Chelsea Register Office offers a same day
service for priority and urgent applications for copies of birth,
death, marriage and civil partnership certificates. Certificates
will be available for collection within one hour of ordering
(either by telephone or in person) upon payment of an additional
fee, subject to the following criteria:
- The same day service is only available as follows: Monday to
Friday 09.00 – 15.30 and Saturdays 09.00 – 15.00.
- There is a £10.00 same day service fee per application for this
enhanced service payable at the time of ordering. (If more than one
copy of a single entry is required there is only one fee of £10.00;
however if multiple certificates are required from different
registers, the fee will apply to each application
surrendered.)
This enhanced service can be particularly useful if you are in
urgent need of a copy birth certificate for official purposes such
as a passport application or job interview. Further information is

This service is not applicable at the time of initial
registration of a birth, death, marriage, etc. as certificates will
be available directly from the Registrar at this time.
