Emergencies
These pages will give you guidance and advice on what to do in
an emergency. We hope that it's advice you will never have to
use, but it's here if you need it.
Crisis, emergency, major incident, disaster - there are many
different words that are used to describe large scale events of an
unfortunate nature, but what do they really mean? Through
these pages, The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is raising
awareness to its residents and businesses, empowering them to be
able to take steps to prepare and protect themselves against
potential emergencies.

We are not suggesting that the Royal Borough of Kensington and
Chelsea will have a major gas leak or building collapse, but due to
the events such as the 2007 summer floods in Hull and
Gloucestershire and events within the borough such as the Ladbroke
Train crash, The Royal Marsden fire and the flash floods of July
2007, it has brought to light that both the public and businesses,
need to be aware and ready to deal with emergencies.
