Welcome to the Mayor's page
Each year, in May, the Council elects a councillor
to serve as Mayor for twelve months. This year, 2011-12 Cllr Julie Mills
serves as the Royal Borough's ceremonial and civic head.
The Mayor does not take any active political part in the
Council's affairs but does chair meetings of the Council.
The Mayor receives members of the Royal Family and other
important guests on their formal visits to official engagements in
the borough. During their term in office, the Mayor will attend
many hundreds of events both in the borough and other parts of
London, supporting the organisations who provide services to its
community.
In return, the Mayor entertains representatives at the Mayor's
Parlour in the Town Hall which is used for both formal and informal
occasions.
A Christmas message
from the Mayor
The Mayor wishes all those who live in, work in and visit the
Royal Borough a very happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.

this Christmas, please call 020 7361 3659 or send a cheque to the
Mayor’s Office, Hornton Street, London, W8 7NX. All funds go
directly towards local charities working with isolated residents in
the community.
Thank you for your kind support.
