The role of Town Clerk
Until November 2011, the role of Town Clerk was combined with
that of Chief Executive. Now it is combined with the role of
Executive Director of Finance. This post is held by Mr Nicholas
Holgate.
The Town Clerk advises the Mayor at Council meetings and assists
the Mayor on ceremonial occasions.
The Town Clerk and Executive Director of Finance is the most
senior officer solely concerned with the business of the Royal
Borough, and assures the Council's interests accordingly.
