Senior staff information

In 2011, the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster City Council embarked upon a unique and ambitious shared services programme providing savings of up to £40million a year across the three boroughs by 2015/16. The number of senior and middle managers has reduced by 50% which has  dramatically reduced the cost of the executive pay bill for the three boroughs.

Outlined below are details relating to senior officers employed by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea who on a full time equivalent basis earn more than £50,000 p.a.

2. Budgets shown are for the financial year 2014-15 and reflect only those for which the individual named is directly responsible and not those for which they are indirectly responsible but for which day to day management has been delegated. Where day to day management for budgets has been delegated to officers whose salary falls below the reporting threshold, these budget sums are excluded from the disclosure. This may result in some officers showing a zero budget responsibility.

Budgetary responsibility totals include income as well as expenditure where applicable.

3. Shared Working: The actual proportion of salary costs are shared across the boroughs according to service requirements. WCC/RBKC/H&F indicates tri-borough working; RBKC/H&F indicates bi-borough working; RBKC indicates single borough working.

4. Please note that the pay bands published above are not salary scales for the posts shown alongside them.  They are £5,000 bands commencing at the threshold for publication of our senior officer salaries of £50,000 per annum.  Officers’ salaries fall within these bands and actual salaries are not shown.  This is in line with guidance issued by the Information Commissioner’s Office.
