Appeals
If you have been refused a place for your child at a school you
applied for, you have the right to appeal against the decision. An
independent panel will hear your appeal and their decision is
binding for both the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and
the school. The panel will be made up of people who have experience
in education and people eligible to be lay members (people without
personal experience of school management or the provision of
education).
For further information on the appeals procedure for a Royal
Borough primary community schools or Holland Park secondary school,
please contact us on tel: 020 7361 2210.
If you have been refused a place at one of the the Royal Borough
voluntary aided (church) schools or Chelsea Academy, you will need
to obtain an appeal form from the respective school.
If you would like independent advice regarding appeals or any
other education matter, you can contact to ACE (Advisory Centre for
Education). The Advisory Centre for Education provides free,
independent advice on the admissions process and a range of
education issues, including bullying, exclusion, SEN and
attendance. For advice, enquirers should text the phrase AskACE to
68808 and follow instructions, or telephone 0808 800 5793 Monday -
Friday, 10am to 5pm.
