The aim of ‘Developing Language, Promoting Learning’ is to support headteachers, governors, managers, and teachers in ensuring that educational provision within their institutions meets the language and learning needs of students across ethnic groups.
‘Developing Language, Promoting Learning’ has been prepared by the Language Development Service in consultation with local schools, colleges and community education providers. It explains why developing the learning of both community languages and English is important and shows examples of how some institutions achieve this.
