Best Bar None

About Best Bar None

Kensington and Chelsea Best Bar None aims to encourage high standards of management in pubs, clubs and restaurants and reduce alcohol-related crime and disorder.

The scheme is being piloted in Earl's Court, Chelsea and Kensington as part of a wider strategy to make the borough a safer and more attractive environment in which to live, work and socialise.

Apply for accreditation

Licensed premises have until 17 December 2007 to apply for accreditation through the first round of judging. All those that reach the required standard will be able to display the Best Bar None logo and will be featured on town centre and local tube station posters.

Overall winners will then be chosen by a judging panel and announced at an awards ceremony in April 2008.

Premises displaying the Best Bar None logo will have to demonstrate a responsible approach to:

  • preventing crime and disorder
  • public safety
  • preventing public nuisance.

Cllr Nicholas Paget-Brown, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, said: "Best Bar None is a demonstration of the Council's commitment to working in partnership with the police and local licensees to make sure the Royal Borough is seen as a safe and attractive place in which to enjoy a night out."
