Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering
What does it teach?
This course gives supervisors and managers an understanding of food hygiene and hazard analysis procedures and their responsibilities in managing food hygiene.
Please note:
- This qualification has replaced the Intermediate Certificate in Food Safety.
- The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea reserves the right to offer an equivalent level qualification course with accredited examinations set by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health , Royal Society for the Promotion of Health or Royal Institute of Public Health.

What are the minimum requirements?
You must have a Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene or Level 2 Award in Food Safety. You also need supervisory skills and a good level of written English.
How long does it last?
Three days, plus an examination.
Important: You are required to attend at least 80 per cent of the course.

All managers, supervisors, head chefs, sous chefs, commis chefs and team leaders.

Is there an assessment at the end of the course?
Yes, there is a two hour multiple choice examination paper.
