Recycling your Christmas tree
If you have a real Christmas tree, the most environmentally
conscious way to dispose of it is to compost it. If you can’t
compost your Christmas tree yourself, the Council can help.
During 4 January to 17 January 2010 we will collect used
Christmas trees - these will be shredded and turned into
compost.
Christmas tree collection dates are different to those for your
normal recycling and refuse collection, and a special crew will
collect your tree from your home.
If you are already on the Garden Waste Scheme, your Christmas
tree will be collected on the same day as your garden waste.
To find out which day Christmas trees will be collected in
your street please see the Garden waste collection
calendar [PDF file] (file size 83Kb)
Please put your tree out for collection alongside your garden
waste bag, at the boundary of your property (so that it is visible
from the kerb).
If you are not registered on the Garden Waste Scheme please call
Streetline on tel: 020 7361 3001 for collection dates for your
area.
