Online permits pilot scheme

In July 2009 the Council launched a pilot scheme offering a pre-selected group of residents the opportunity to renew their parking permit online.

At the moment, all residents receive a renewal reminder letter six weeks before their current permit expires.

For residents who are eligible for the pilot, this renewal letter will now be replaced by a letter offering the option to renew online. A web address (url) directing the customer to the renewal webpage and information about accessing customer accounts will be provided. This page can not be found via search.

Currently only those residents who are selected to receive this letter will be able to renew online.

You currently need to meet the following criteria to be eligible for the pilot:

  • be renewing your permit for the second (or subsequent) time
  • be renewing for a minimum period of 12 months
  • have been resident at the same address for two years
  • live in a single permit home
  • have not changed your car details for two years
  • have not changed your name for two years
  • have no more than two unpaid penalty charge notices

We hope to be able to expand this service to the vast majority of residents over the coming months.
