In Transit is an exciting artist led programme of new commissions featuring outdoor performances, installations, trails, talks and interactive events transforming streets and parks across Kensington and Chelsea. Our unique programme is made up of over 25 original commissions by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Arts Service.

We have a fantastic array of artforms. The spotlight this year on dance, performance, visual art and debate. Events are suitable for individuals, groups of friends and families, and range from self-led trails and podcast guides, through to artist-led walks. - True or False- In Transit, 23 July 2008
Abstract: Two duplicitous guides lead a walk around strange corners of Chelsea, through hospitals and duelling fields, past gardens and ghosts. However, for each two stories the guides tell, only one will be true. Players following the walk will be rewarded for working out which is which, but there may also be something to be said for going along with the compelling lies...
- Twilight Photography Trail- In Transit, 24 July 2008
Abstract: Twilight is an hour that embodies transition, magic and mystery, and this photographic exploration of public space, architecture and nature across the borough will be used to explore the way in which a city's character changes when the sun sets. Buildings which appear mundane or uninteresting during the day appear mysterious or brooding when bathed in the glow of evening light.

Abstract: An enchanted event designed to make sure you never see council estates the same way. Using light and shadow, this reinvention of a neglected park plays cheekily with perspective. Tiny puppets and tall creations bring the space to life.

Abstract: Theatre piece written especially for Sunbeam Gardens. SPID Theatre Company's show has been devised with inspiration from local residents. It all begins on a dark night far in the future.

Abstract: Join sculptor Linda Johns to learn how to create your own sculptures finding materials and inspiration from the woods of Holland Park.
- Adonia- In Transit, 9 August 2008
Abstract: Adonia is a sensory walk through the food market, involving tasting and other sensory activities. Originally an ancient Greek festival held throughout the night on unused rooftops, it will be transported to Portobello Food Market.
- Chelsea vs Kensington Game- In Transit, 10 August 2008
Abstract: Kensington and Chelsea face each other down once and for all in a game that stretches from Chelsea Embankment to Holland Park. Pledge loyalty to the Blue Boar of Kensington or the Silver-Winged Bull of Chelsea, then chase down your enemies, or dodge past them; work alone or with dozens of other players to carry the emblems of your team into the enemy stronghold. With ribbons, balloons, sneaking and spying.

- Transplantation: The Secret Lives of Trees- In Transit, 14 August 2008
Abstract: This unconventional guided tour will combine botany, travelogue, music and dance to uncover the origins and stories of Holland park's plants and trees. Explore the woodlands and trace the fascinating journeys of the park's plant life from across the globe to Holland Park. Be transported to each plant's country of origin through live performances by international musicians and dancers in beautiful settings along the route.

Abstract: Adonia is a sensory walk through the food market, involving tasting and other sensory activities. Originally an ancient Greek festival held throughout the night on unused rooftops, it will be transported to Portobello Food Market. It begins at 8am at the start of the Saturday food market and ends with a shared breakfast.

Abstract: Taking discussions about art in the public realm out of galleries and meeting rooms and back to the art works and people whose space they most directly inhabit. This debate will start with the Love/Hate art commissions and end in the pub!
