Centre for Sustainable Energy

The Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) aims to advance sustainable energy policy and practice. We seek energy solutions that engage people and communities to meet real needs for both environmentally sound and affordable energy services.

CSE's schools programmes and resources aim to catch future citizens young, while our training service concentrates on equipping adults - as householders or employees, policy-makers or citizens - to look at energy from a fresh perspective. CSE has been delivering innovative education programmes for more than 15 years in more than 1000 schools across the UK.

The National Energy Foundation

The National Energy Foundation (NEF) is an independent educational charity that operates an education service, free information and activity sheets are available for download from the PowerEd website.

NEF has a mobile renewable energy display, the Green Energy Machine (GEM) that is available for hire for presentations to schools within a two hour drive from Milton Keynes.

Renewable energy kits are also on sale, which are proving invaluable for teachers to use as hands-on tools to enliven delivery of the curriculum in science, geography and ESD

dti renewables website for schools

The Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) renewable energy education site provides lessons for teachers to help pupils of all ages understand more about green energy.

As part of the, its only natural programme, DTI has developed programmes for primary and secondary schools to provide information and teaching resources about eight key renewable energy sources.
