Helping your child to enjoy reading 
You can help your child to enjoy reading by sharing stories,
rhymes and pictures. Remember, children can have their own library
card from birth, and they don't pay fines.
The libraries have:
- board books for babies and very young children
- easy readers to build reading confidence
- a wide range of attractive picture books
- all their favourite characters, like Thomas the Tank Engine,
Spot and Maisy
- simple information on the world around us, ABCs, nursery rhymes
and counting books
- children's books in other languages including: Arabic, French,
Spanish and Urdu
Free online ebooks for children
The Words for Life website hosts some amazing free eBooks for
children of all ages.
There are also some brilliant activities children can do that
will help improve their reading.
Literacy Champions
Sharing books with babies and young children is an enjoyable way
to share talk. You and your child will enjoy the experience, which
means there is a strong chance it will become a regular
activity.
