Local Studies and archives

The Kensington and Chelsea Local Studies collection is housed at
the Central Library.
What's available in Local Studies?
It contains all the Borough's material on the history of both
Kensington and Chelsea, including books, maps, press cuttings,
illustrations, census returns, electoral registers, manuscripts,
ephemera and other archive material.
The Kensington and Chelsea Local Studies collections are housed
in the Central Library. Our library staff will advise you on what
material is available.
Important: If you want to see local studies
archive records you should make an appointment. To make an
appointment phone the Kensington
Central Library.

Burying London-Touring Exhibition, 21 September 2009 to 13 November

Abstract: The Library service,working in
partnership with the Houses of Parliament Parliamentary Outreach
Team, has put together a touring exhibition that combines
parliamentary resources and Local Studies and archives
resources.
The exhibition is called `Burying London'. It highlights the role
of the local community in petitioning parliament for the creation
of public cemeteries at Brompton and Kensal Green.
