Opening Hours

The theatre gates open at 6pm to the general public, or at 5.30pm if you have pre-booked a table or picnic.

How to get there

The Holland Park Theatre is situated in the middle of Holland Park. Entrance to the park is via Ilchester Place Gate, Abbotsbury Road Car Park, The Duchess of Bedford Gate or from Holland Walk and Holland Park Avenue.

Public transport

We strongly advice patrons to use public transport if possible. Holland Park Theatre is in the new congestion charge zone.

Travelling by bus

  • Buses 9,10,27,28,49 and 328 pass the park. Get off at the Commonwealth Institute stop. The park entrance is just beside the old Commonwealth Institute building
  • Walk up the long avenue, past the cricket field,  and turn left at the top

Travelling by tube

  • The nearest tube stations are Holland Park and Kensington High Street

From Kensington High Street station

  • Turn left on leaving the station and walk down High Street Kensington for about 10 minutes
  • The entrance to the park is opposite Waitrose and just before the Commonwealth Institute
  • Walk up the long avenue, past the cricket field,  and turn left at the top

From Holland Park station

  • Cross over the road at the traffic lights and turn right toward Shepherds Bush and the A40
  • Walk along Holland Park Avenue and turn into Holland Park on the left
  • Continue to walk up Abbotsbury Road until you reach a sign-post for The Belvedere Restaurant and Car Park, on the left hand-side

Leaving the Park

We ask that patrons please exit through the Duchess of Bedford gate leading to Holland Walk, Abbotsbury Road car park gate or the Ilchester Place gate.

The Terrace and Dutch Garden Lounge

The Terrace is the covered area to the rear of the stage. This area is bookable and is subject to availability. Wheelchair access to The Terrace is, unfortunately, restricted. The Dutch Garden Lounge is a beautifully finished glass-fronted lounge which overlooks the celebrated Dutch Garden of Holland Park.

The Canopy

The theatre, comprising stage, auditorium and foyer, is entirely covered by a high-tensile fabric canopy.

Latecomers Policy

There is a strictly enforced latecomers policy. Patrons arriving late will not be permitted to take their seats until a suitable break in the performance – this may be the interval.

Surtitles

At certain times and from particular seats the surtitle system is not always fully visible. The surtitles are an additional service that we provide, but we would ask you to understand the unique nature of our venue.

Parking

There are many parking restrictions in the residential area and these are strictly enforced. We advise patrons to use public transport. For more information and how to pay daily charge, go to Transport for London Congestion Charging.

Facilities For The Disabled

Holland Park is a unique and beautiful venue and we are pleased to be able to offer good facilities for the disabled. However, the nature of the site means these cannot be as comprehensive as we would like.

  • Opera Holland Park will allow one carer to attend with a wheelchair user free of charge
  • There are a limited number of wheelchair spaces in the theatre in the front row
  • Wheelchair users should use the ramp to the side of the theatre. Please advise the box office when booking
  • We intend to seat carers next to wheelchair occupants. However, should that not be possible, our stewards will be on call at all times to assist those patrons in wheelchairs should it be necessary during the performance
  • There is a disabled lavatory on site
  • Wheelchair access to The Terrace is unavoidably restricted
  • There is an induction loop for the hard of hearing
  • Guide dogs are permitted on the seating stand – please advise the box office when booking
