The Council is working with Kensington and Chelsea NHS and the Voluntary Sector to answer these questions in a project called the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment.
The information we already know about the borough is presented in our data compendium 'Current population, health and social care provision'. This section will eventually contain almost everything you’ve ever wanted to know about the health of residents and the existing distribution of services in Kensington and Chelsea.
We are analysing this information and will bring it together to form a report which will be used by the Council, the NHS and voluntary sector to decide how existing services must adapt, and whether new services will be needed in the future. It will also feed into the Kensington and Chelsea Partnership’s Community Strategy and the Local Area Agreement.
The reports will be updated as new information is gathered. Later in the year we plan to ask local people and communities about their needs and what they want from their health and social care services. Getting the views of residents is very important and key to the success of this programme.
This website will be developing over the next few months. We welcome your views on it so if you have any comments please email us at JSNA@rbkc.gov.uk
