Land Charges and planning archives
Land Charges
The Council, by law, must keep a Land Charges Register. The
register records relevant information on every property (also known
as a ‘parcel of land’) within the borough. It will contain
information on planning permissions, highway status / proposals,
conservation area designation, tree preservation orders, Article 4
directions, enforcement notices, improvement grants management
orders, and Financial Charges.
Copies of documents
Copies of single documents, such as a Decision Notice, can
usually be downloaded from our web site free of charge or can be
obtained for a basic photocopying fee from our Planning Information
desk at the Town Hall.
We are also able to supply copies of documents, planning
history information and formal decisions by
post. Please note that this is a chargeable service and
the current rates can be found here:
All such requests must be made in writing and accompanied by the
appropriate payment.
Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) in the Royal Borough
The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is a new power which
enables a charge to be levied on the net increase in gross internal
area floorspace arising from development in order to fund
infrastructure that is needed to support development in the
area.
The Mayor of London is proposing a CIL for Greater London for
which a charge of £50/m2 will be levied in the Royal Borough,
although medical/health services and schools/colleges are proposed
to have a zero or nil charge (£0/m2) from 1 April
2012.
For further information visit our dedicated CIL webpage.
