Public houses and other uses which make life local and a draft policy regarding character and use - Submission page

A partial review of the Core Strategy for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea with a Focus on North Kensington Development Plan Document is now underway.

Submission stage has now been reached with regard to two draft planning policies. One relates to resisting the loss of public houses and other uses which make life local. The other draft policy relates to character and use.

On Thursday 31 January 2013 the Council submitted two draft policies to be included in the Core Strategy to the Secretary of State for examination. These policies relate to resisting the loss of public houses and other facilities which make life local, and one relating to character and use.

The draft policies are the final version of draft policies which were consulted on last year. The last consultation event was in September/ October 2012 when consultees were asked to comment on the ‘soundness’ of the policies.

Please note that this submission does not constitute a further period of public consultation. The Inspector will be considering the comments which have already been made on the ‘soundness’ of the policies. We are not inviting any further comments at this stage and the Inspector will not be able to consider any further comments which are received.

From Friday 1 February 2013, the following documents will be available to view on the Public Houses and related uses web page of the Council’s website; at all Council libraries and in the public reception area of the Town Hall. These documents can also be downloaded below.

In addition the evidence base behind the draft policies will be available on the Public Houses and related uses webpage of the Council’s website.
