Planning Obligations (S106)
Supplementary Planning Document
The Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) on Planning
Obligations (known as section 106 agreements) sets out in
principle what kinds of planning applications will require
infrastructure investment such as transport, education and open
space. These will help to ensure that developers mitigate the
impact of the development and meet the infrastructure needs it
creates.
The SPD forms part of the ‘Local Development
Framework’ (LDF) and is designed to act as a framework to guide
sustainable investment and development within the Royal Borough. It
supplements policies within the Unitary Development Plan (in
particular MI1) and the Core Strategy Policy C1 “Infrastructure
Delivery and Planning Obligations”
The consultation ran from January to March
2010. The SPD was adopted on 17 August 2010, and will be
implemented from September 2010. Copies can be downloaded
below.
Hard copies of the documents are also available for inspection
at the Planning Information Desk, Town Hall and at all local
libraries in the Royal Borough.
