You are a carer if you provide unpaid care and support for a partner, relative, friend or neighbour on a regular basis because they are ill, frail or disabled.

Caring for someone can be demanding. Social Services can help you to identify what would make your life easier by discussing a support plan or assessment with you. We may then be able to provide:

  • practical support to help you in your caring role
  • support towards a respite break or holiday
  • access to support groups and counselling
  • information and advice (including financial advice)
