Competitions and Gallery

The Council holds annual competitions (often linked to campaigns) that are open to all school pupils in the Royal Borough. The competitions encourage pupils to think about and discuss both road safety and green travel issues.

Road Safety and Green Travel Calendar

Every autumn pupils of all ages from schools, nurseries and playgroups in the Royal Borough are invited to enter a poster competition.

Pupils are asked to design a poster depicting a road safety or a green travel message
The best entries are used to make the pages of the road safety and green travel calendar
Over 2000 entries are received each year from schools across the borough and winners and runners up are rewarded with a presentation ceremony held in the Mayor's Parlour

Several copies of the finished calendar are sent to every educational establishment, library, information office, hospital and other organisations with an interest in road safety and green travel.
