Blue Plaques

Blue Plaque for Lord Leighton For over 100 years the homes of many famous residents have been commemorated with blue plaques. Started by the Royal Society of Arts, it has since passed to the London County Council, the Greater London Council and is now run by English Heritage. However the selection criteria has remained constant; candidates are proposed by members of the public then researched and approved by the Board.
