Grants for Carers’ Support Services in Kensington and Chelsea 2011-12

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is currently seeking applications from voluntary and community organisations and health providers to provide support services to unpaid carers of Royal Borough residents. This year applications will be considered against specific criteria in the priority areas listed below and more detailed specifications. Providers can be located in Kensington and Chelsea or elsewhere, however they must be able to deliver services in the borough from April 2011.

Funding is available from April 2011 until March 2012.

Objectives

  • to support carers in their caring role - activities to promote health and well-being
  • to support carers to have a life outside of caring - activities to promote social inclusion
  • to identify hidden or hard-to-reach carers – carers who are currently receiving no support in recognition of their caring role. This includes working carers
  • to offer opportunities for breaks to carers

Within these objectives, we will be funding the following priority areas:

  • emotional support and counselling
  • support groups, general or specialist
  • social activities and inclusion

The closing date to submit applications is 5pm on Monday 29 November 2010.
