Purpose:
There is a statutory requirement to store sufficient salt to ensure road and highway safety in Winter. As part of the redevelopment of Lots Road, a new location for the Council’s Salt Store is needed from Oct 2026. Leasing a site in Old Oak is the preferred option and will provide a salt store function for up to 10 years.
Decision:
The Lead Member APPROVED the 10-year lease with a break clause in the fifth year for Unit 5 Apex, Hythe Road, Old Oak Common for use as the Council’s Salt Store and all other related lease documents including inter alia licence of alterations.
