Declarations of Interest Any member of the Council who has a disclosable pecuniary interest in a matter to be considered at the meeting is reminded to disclose the interest to the meeting and to leave the Chamber while any discussion or vote on the matter takes place.
Members are also reminded that if they have any other significant interest in a matter to be considered at the meeting, which they feel should be declared in the public interest, such interests should be declared to the meeting. In such circumstances Members should consider whether their continued participation, in the matter relating to the interest, would be reasonable in the circumstances, particularly if the interest may give rise to a perception of a conflict of interests, or whether they should leave the Chamber while any discussion or vote on the matter takes place.

Complaint from Ms X Decision: DECISION OF AUDIT AND TRANSPARENCY COMMITTEE 23 MARCH 2026
IN RELATION TO A CODE OF CONDUCT COMPLAINT AGAINST COUNCILLOR JEDUT
The Committee heard the complaint against Councillor Jedut from ‘Ms X’ dated 12 May 2025.
The complaint alleged a number of breaches of the Councillor Code of Conduct by Councillor Jedut. The Committee carefully considered the Investigation Report, representations prior to the meeting from Cllr Jedut and the comments of the Ethics Panel. It also had the opportunity to ask questions of the Investigating Officer; however, Cllr Jedut declined to be present to respond to the Committee.
The Committee agreed with the findings of the Investigating Officers, as set out in the Investigation Report, that Councillor Jedut was in breach of the Councillor Code of Conduct in relation to the complaint made against her.
In relation to the complaint made by ‘Ms X’, Cllr Jedut was found to be in breach of the following provisions in the Code –
1. Paragraph 1.04 (x) treating people with respect, 2. Paragraph 1.04 (xiii) promoting and supporting high standards of conduct through leadership and example.
The Hearing
A full written decision will be prepared and sent to Councillor Jedut and the Complainant as soon as possible and will also be published on the Council’s website after the pre-election period.
Councillor Jedut has the right to appeal under the Council’s Arrangements by advising the Monitoring Officer in writing within 14 days of the Committee meeting.
Councillor Jedut will be required to set out in detail the grounds upon which an appeal is sought. Upon receipt of notification of appeal, the Monitoring Officer will consult the Ethics Panel again.
The Monitoring Officer will forward the report detailing the allegations, views of the Ethics Panel and findings of the Investigation to the Audit and Transparency Committee who will determine the Appeal.
This Committee will comprise different membership to that of the first Committee.
