Full-length drapery study for the male figure turned to the right and loading a crossbow, seen to the far right of the fresco 'The Arts of Industry as Applied to War' (1878-80, Victoria and Albert Museum). The legs and feet are not indicated. The neck, hands, cap, and part of the crossbow are lightly indicated.
