Interpretation
This study for the drapery, excluding the sleeves, of a male figure lifting a helmet onto his head, seen to the left of the fresco 'The Arts of Industry as Applied to War' (1878-80, Victoria and Albert Museum) can be linked to another study, also at Leighton House Museum, for the sleeves for the same male figure (reference number LHO/D/0546).
Full-length drapery study for the male figure, lifting a helmet onto his head, to the left of the fresco 'The Arts of Industry as Applied to War' (1878-80, Victoria and Albert Museum). The right foot is also indicated, however, the sleeves are not indicated. Right of sheet: study for part of the drapery covering the right side of the same figure.
