Interpretation
This study for the sleeves of a male figure seen lifting a helmet onto his head, to the left of the fresco 'The Arts of Industry as Applied to War' (1878-80, Victoria and Albert Museum) can be linked to another study, also at Leighton House Museum, for the drapery for the same male figure, excluding the sleeves (reference number LHO/D/0538).
Drapery study for the sleeves of the male figure lifting a helmet onto his head, to the left of the fresco 'The Arts of Industry as Applied to War' (1878-80, Victoria and Albert Museum). Part of the drapery covering the shoulders and upper body is also included. The head and helmet are also indicated.
