Centre of sheet: full-length study for the figure of Andromeda in the painting 'Perseus and Andromeda' (c.1891, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool). The drawing differs from the finished work as the arms are held above the the head and the upper body is turned to the right. Centre right of sheet: half-length study for the figure of Andromeda with arms held above the head and the head turned to the right. Lower right of sheet: full-length study for the figure of Andromeda in the same pose as the finished work. The drawing differs from the finished work as drapery is sketched in around the figure.
