Description

Centre of sheet: full-length study of Moses for the illustration 'Moses Views the Promised Land' for 'Dalziel's Bible Gallery' (1880-81). The pose of Moses is very similar to the finished illustration, although the study has a fuller robe and longer beard. Lower left of sheet: study for the head of Moses. The hood covering his head in the completed illustration is not shown. Upper right of sheet: study for the fingers of the right hand of Moses.
