Interpretation

The facial features seen here appear to be slightly different to other studies for the head of the figure in the painting 'Clytie' (c.1895-96, private collection). This study may have been made from a different model. (See also reference numbers LHO/D/707, LHO/D/711, LHO/D/713.)

Description

Study for the head, neck, and part of the shoulder of Clytie in the painting 'Clytie' (c.1895-96, private collecton). The full length of hair is also indicated. The head is not tilted back as far as it is in the painting.
