Centre of sheet: full-length nude study for the group of two male figures holding purple fabric to the right of the fresco 'Phoenicians Bartering with Ancient Britons' (1894-95, Royal Exchange). The figure to the left is lightly sketched in outline. The feet and hands are not indicated. The figure to the right is drawn in detail. The cap is indicated although it is rounder than that shown in the finished painting. Lower left of sheet: study for the right hand and right foot of the same figure. Centre right of sheet: study for the left hand and left foot of the same figure.
