Left of sheet: full-length study for a standing female figure, in profile, facing to the right. The right hand holds a bow and quiver by the right side, at arms length. Centre of sheet: full-length study for the same female figure, with bow and quiver, turned to the right. The left arm is fully extended and the hand rests against a wall at shoulder height. Right of sheet: full-length study for the same standing female figure, with bow and quiver, turned to the right. Both hands rest either side of the figure. The figures are all in classical dress.
Bequeathed by the artist to his sisters, Mrs. Augusta Matthews (n+e Augusta Neunburg Leighton, 1835-1919) and Mrs. Alexandra Orr (n+e Alexandra Leighton, 1828-1903); purchased by the Fine Art Society in 1896; collection of Leighton House Museum.
