The crude sketch of the lower body of Iphigenia suggests that this study may have been made from a lay-figure (or mannequin).

Lower left of sheet: study for the pillow under the upper body of Iphigenia. The right arm of Iphigenia and the drapery beneath the pillow are also indicated. Lower centre of sheet: study of drapery.
