Interpretation
This study is on the reverse of a study for four decorative Panels for Mrs. Rylands (reference number LHO/D/0846).
Left of sheet: full-length study of a nude female figure facing the viewer. The left hand rests on an object to the left at chest height. The right arm is held behind the figure. The weight rests on the right leg and the left foot is in front of the left. The upper body is twisted so that the right shoulder is lower than the left.
