Interpretation

In 1866 the villa and its collection was bought by Princess Torlonia and renamed Villa Torlonia.

Page from a sketchbook. View of a landscape with the Villa Albani shown at the upper left. To the right of the villa is a group of tall cypress trees. In the foreground are the gardens of the villa with a circular fountain. At the upper right in the distance are a row of hills.
