Interpretation
These figures represent the Virgin Mary and are copied from the fresco 'The Presentation of the Virgin' (c.1305) by Giotto di Bondone (Italian painter, 1267-1337) in the Capella degli Scrovegni (or Arena Chapel) in Padua.
