Interpretation
The inscriptions on this page include references to Jacob Jordaens (Flemish Baroque Painter 1593-1678), and Nicholas Poussin - 'The Shepherds of Arcadia' oil on can (1627), the Duke of Devonshire and the Chatsworth Settlement Trustees.
Purchased by the Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University, from Geoffrey Steele (antiquarian bookseller, c.1907-2000) from his bookshop at RFD 1, Mahopac, New York, in 1946 for $6.00.
