Interpretation
These inscriptions are notes on the method of Titan. They include reference to the Basilica of St. Guistina (St Guistina Cathedral) in Padua, and Girolamo Romanino (Italian painter, c.1484 - c.1559).
Purchased by the Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University, from Geoffrey Steele (antiquarian bookseller, c.1907-2000) from his bookshop at RFD 1, Mahopac, New York, in 1946 for $6.00.
