Description

Left of sheet: full-length study of a standing female figure, facing the viewer, with head bowed down and carrying a pitcher across her shoulders. Both hands reach up to support the pitcher from underneath. Centre of sheet: full-length study of a standing female figure, with back to the viewer, carrying a pitcher under the left arm. Right of sheet: full-length study of a standing female figure, with back to viewer, bending forward. The left hand is lowered to lift the top of a pitcher. All three figures are in classical dress. 

Provenance

Sold through Barbizon House, London; purchased by Cecil French (artist and collector, 1879-1953); bequeathed to Fulham Public Libraries Committee (now the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham Libraries) by Cecil French in 1954; on long term loan to Leighton House Museum
