Description

Study for the hair of the female figure in the foreground of the painting 'Summer Slumber' (c.1894, private collection). The head and left shoulder have also been lightly sketched in.

Purchased by Cecil French (artist and collector, 1879-1953); bequeathed to Fulham Public Libraries Committee (now the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham Libraries) by Cecil French in 1954; on long term loan to Leighton House Museum
