Interpretation
Leighton was suffering from angina when he travelled from his home in Holland Park Road, Kensington to Algiers for the second time, almost a year before his death in 1895. 'The Times' reported: "It was stated last night at Holland-Park-Road that the latest news received from Algiers, where Sir Frederic Leighton has gone for the benefit of his health, was to the effect that there was no change in his condition."
