University of Bedfordshire website: The International Centre: Researching child sexual exploitation, violence and trafficking.

  • These 12 films are aimed at anyone who wants to access learning from the latest research on child sexual exploitation (CSE), in a short accessible form. The films share the findings of a range of studies undertaken by researchers in 'The International Centre: Researching Child Sexual Exploitation, Violence and Trafficking' at the University of Bedfordshire, as well as drawing on wider CSE literature. Most of the films are under two minutes long. They can be watched in the office, shared with colleagues or friends, or used in training contexts. Each film is accompanied by a short briefing document that outlines the evidence in more detail, with references and links to the original research, and questions for reflection.
     

Barnardo's website: Working with children and young people who experience running away and child sexual exploitation: An evidence-based guide for practitioners.

  • The aim of this guide is to provide practitioners working with children and young people with learning from an action research study addressing the relationship between running away and child sexual exploitation (CSE) so that, where appropriate, this learning can be incorporated into direct practice. The research and information presented in this guide is based upon a consultation with children and young people who experienced both running away and CSE while under the age of 16 and a consultation with professionals working directly with this group of children and young people.

Metropolitan Police website: Operation Makesafe.

  • A campaign led by the Metropolitan Police Service in partnership with London boroughs raising awareness of Child Sexual Exploitation within the business community including hotels, taxi companies and licensed premises. The campaign aims to identify potential victims of child sexual exploitation and, where necessary, deploy police officers to intervene prior to any young person coming to harm.
