Violence Against Women (VAWG)

The term 'Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG)' defines the range of serious violent crime types and abuses which are predominantly, but not exclusively, experienced by women and girls these include:

• domestic abuse and violence (including coercive control)
• rape and sexual violence
• female genital mutilation
• forced marriage
• crimes in the name of 'honour'
• sexual harassment
• stalking
• trafficking
• prostitution/sexual exploitation

Angelou Partnership

The Angelou Partnership is an independent service commissioned by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and Westminster City Council, to deliver Violence Against Women and Girls services. They can offer support and advice in these areas:

• Sexual violence or abuse, including rape and child exploitation
• Domestic abuse, this includes familial as well as partner relations
• Stalking and harassment
• Harmful practices, such as FGM and honour-based violence
• Faith-based violence
• Support tailored to specific backgrounds and needs, such as ethnicity and sexual orientation.
