2 Holland Park Road, Kensington 26 Jan 1892 Dear L'Anson It was the special and frequently urged wish of my poor father to be cremated. At that long and painful ordeal I alone shall be present, but we have arranged that before removing the bier to Woking the burial service shall be read over it at St Johns', the church at the end of Kensington's [-] Gardens - on Friday morning at 10.15. The ceremony will be absolutely private - perhaps 5 or 6 may be present. I write to let you know in the event of your wishing to be present. I am grateful to say that he passed away without pain. Believe me Yours sincerely Fred Leighton
